I've created some great neon tubing in 3DSMax and rendered glare effect at low resolution however when I go to render much larger resolution I get no glare effect. Normally to render at very high resolution / size I would disable the memory frame buffer and render a v-ray raw image file. Apparently the memory buffer needs to be on for lense effects. Is this true? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I need to render large enough for print reproduction.

Effects that depends on the VFB will not be applied in this case. You can render to a Vrimg or EXR file and then load the image back into the VFB to apply those effects and re-save the file. Furthermore you can free some memory up by resetting the 3DS Max application if the image resolution is quite big.
