  • Sketchup Crashing

    I was told by Chaos Support to follow the process below to solve my crashing issue but it didn't work. Sketchup only crashes in 2018 but not in 2017.

    "Please uninstall V-Ray then open Sketchup and, from the drop down menu Window > Extension Manager, disable Dynamic Components extension. Then save any file through SketchUp, so that the state of the extensions is stored. After that close Sketchup, start it again, check in the Extension Manager if Dynamic Components is still disabled and close Sketchup again. Install V-Ray and start Sketchup and try to render with V-Ray."

    Is there anything else I can do?

    Download and install the latest build, it has quite a lot fixes in it - https://download.chaosgroup.com/?product=47&platform=56
    Also - make sure you have installed:
    VC ++ redistributable 2010 - https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/Down....aspx?id=14632
    VC++ redistributable 2015 - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down....aspx?id=52685

      I tried installing both and it tells me that there is a newer version already installed.

        I was able to install both files and the latest build of Vray and Sketchup 2018 still crashes.

          Please send an email at support@chaosgroup.com with a description of the issue as well as some additional info:
          - your OS and version of SketchUp
          - error messages if there are any (open Window > Ruby Console before rendering)
          - confirm whether the issue occurs only with specific projects
          - render mode used (CPU/GPU)
