Gemvision Matrix and Vray Demo for Rhino

Hi,

We use Gemvision Matrix and would like to expand our rendering capabilities outside of the bundled version of Vray for Matrix. We would like to try the demo version to run inside Rhino but have found we cannot render any images / open the VFB etc - the material editor seems to function but nothing else does. We disabled the VrayForMatrix plugin and enabled the VrayForRhino plugin for our Rhino 5 licence and kept VrayForMatrix enabled within Matrix. Also opening Vray crashes Matrix when opening Grasshopper so we had to uninstall the demo so have been unable to evaluate the product. Is there anyone who has encountered this issue? I have contacted Gemvision support who have said the full version of Vray does not conflict with Matrix however the demo version may and there is no support offered for the demo.

Other than installing a copy of Rhino on another workstation (which is under powered and is not going to give us a good indication of render times) is there a workaround?

Hello,

V-Ray 3.6 for Rhino is not guaranteed to function properly when running together with Matrix. I cannot advise on the degree of compatibility between the two products. My advise is to disable Matrix when using V-Ray for Rhino and vise versa.
Please note that although Matrix utilizes a version of our render engine, V-Ray for Matrix is a product of Gemvision.
