  • Can i use V-ray next ?

    Hello.
I am vray trial user. am just wondering, if vray next open for public and non V-ray costumer, i would like to give it a test if so ?

Look for the "JOIN BETA" button here https://www.chaosgroup.com/vray/3ds-max.
Keep in mind that it is still in Beta, and as such, it is not recommended to use it in production, although many people do.

    Best,
    Blago.

Edit: I just saw you are a trial user. Beta is available for commercial users only. Once it is released officially, there will be trial for it.

Thanks for the fast reply, can you give me an eta for a release date? is it 2018 Q2, Q3 ?

No ETA or release date yet. Probably Q2 or Q3, likely Q2.

Blago, may I ask, will there be any further releases on 3.x before Next is released ?

I'm sure I read that there was going to be something for 3.x very soon (and that was Vlado before Christmas if I remember rightly)

          Many thanks.

As usual, we will support the 3.X versions for quite a while. So critical bug fixes will be added.
If you ask for some major new features for V-Ray 3 for 3ds Max - they will be no such. The 3.X release was more than a 4 years ago.

            Best,
            Blago.

Hello sir, i just want to ask here about if vray next gpu will support opencl 1.2 of my r 7 240 amd card? because previous version didn't support it, as pc crash with alot of memory load during opencl library compiling phase. Any ideas about this? i use other opecl apps with no problem.

edit : is there a way to fix this issue?.

OpenCL driver on some older GPUs sometimes has hard time running large applications, like V-Ray GPU. This is not something that we really can address.
We have some simpler parts of V-Ray, that are GPU accelerating and run fine on this GPU - for example the V-Ray Denoiser and the VFB lens effects.

                  Blago.
