  • New Render Nodes Not Working

I've added some new render nodes which fail to render a simple test scene with " Cannot find procedure "vrayRegisterRenderer" " in the log file within Deadline. I've set the license server IP to the host machine, ensured that the Firewall is allowing connection on a Private Network. My other nodes work but the new ones do not. The new nodes are running Vray for Maya 2017 on a 4 node server running Windows Server 2012 R2. Each node will reach the host license server through a web browser. Perhaps there is something in the server software preventing this from happening? This my first time running a server as my other slaves are workstation with Windows 10. They operate as per usual.

    From the slave log:

2018-03-10 10:21:06: 0: STDOUT: Error: file: C:/Users/Administrator/AppData/Local/Temp/tmp462E.tmp line 8: Cannot find procedure "vrayRegisterRenderer".
    2018-03-10 10:21:06: 0: STDOUT: Error: file: C:/Users/Administrator/AppData/Local/Temp/tmp462E.tmp line 50: Render failed.

Not sure what else I can do to get this going. I've asked support for help but I need to get these going right away.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Well, went back to basics and compared nodes that were working to the one that were not. Turns out I installed Standalone instead of V-Ray for Maya. I think I looked for the Standalone on the install due a sales person mentioning it. Anyway I installed V-Ray for Maya and it works. Kind of a dumb mistake, but I'll leave this post up someone else can avoid the pitfall. Cheers.
