Hi I have archive my max scene with phoenix FD sim in it, i notice that the phoenix FD .aur file didn't archive. so i bring the .aur folder along with the archive max scene to another PC to continue my work, the problem is how could link back to the previous .aur phoenix FD sim file, so i can have the same result as previous simulation?

i hope you understand my english and guide me to solve this problem, Urgent!

    Thank you very much.

    Hey,

You can just browse to the caches from the Output or Input rollout: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...put-Parameters

If you just want to render the caches, use the Input path. If you will simulate again use the Output path.

      Thank you for your reply.

What i want to is i already simulate my water fall, and then i archive my file and open it in other PC, do i need to re simulate or i can use back the old data?
if i can use back the old data, how can i use it?
as you say i can simply browse to the cache, after i browse to the cache, do i need to click the start button to simulate the effect once?

sorry, this is the first time i use Phoenix FD, it make me so confuse...do you mind to make a video to show the step for this?

      Thank you.

Nope, you don't need to simulate again if you already have caches.

You don't need to simulate again. Just browse the caches as Svetlin said and you that's it.

            Svetlin Nikolov,

Do you mean i just unzip the archive max file, open it in max, and then click the input and browse the phoenix FD cache, that it, no need to simulate, correct?

if the above is correct, then what is this mean ( If you will simulate again use the Output path.)?

Input path just reads the cache, If you were to simulate again then you set your cache in the output path Normally just using the output path is fine as by default the input path references the output path. There are situations where you need separate though.
