  • no animation rendered

    Dear forum members,
I have trouble rendering with V-Ray for Sketchup.

    Here is my configuration :
    -Mac OS 10.13.4 (french)
    -GPU : AMD Radeon R9 M390 2048 Mo
    -Sketchup Make 2017 (french)
    -Regular Polygon Keyframe Animation 2.0.12
-Chaos Software V-Ray for Sketchup 3.60.01
So to speak, an absolutely "ordinary" setup.

    My animation works perfectly.
Only solo components, no groups, no hidden objects, one layer (calque) per object. No nested objects/animation.

    Here's the problem :
When I render, objects are in wrong position or missing. Totally random. Or only the first image of the first scene is rendered repeatedly when I render an animation.
I have exploded all components, remade all movements, added one layer per component, making new layers, nothing has helped, it was even worse !
Though, unanimated scenes have been rendered successfully. I must also say that I have NO problems whatsoever with .VISMAT and .VRMAT textures. I have tried to render a part of the animation, or single frames, I CANNOT get what I see in Sketchup. Either way components are in a weird position, or missing. C'est n'importe quoi !

I would love to buy V-Ray for Sketchup, but if this is it, I'm not at all convinced ! Fair Dinkum !
WTF have I done wrong ? After a week of trials of all kinds, watching tutorials, I can get NO solutions to this animation/rendering problem. I am crippled (I have ALS), so time plays no role, but I would feel very happy to show my three months project (dang !) properly rendered.

Dear Madam or Sir, would you be so kind to cheer me up with a solution?
    Thank you vermifuge.

    Hello, Olivier,

The Keyframe Animation plugin is not fully compatible with V-Ray for SketchUp as we support only camera animation and do not read info about objects' movement/scaling/rotation.

As a workaround, you can set fps to 30 and create tweens in separate layer (this is possible in keyframe 1.9, can't confirm in 2.0+). Then you can use V-Ray Batch Render to produce a frame sequence based on each interpolated layer.
This is far from ideal due to:
    - very high resource usage
    - materials need to be applied prior to creating the tweens.

Your trial period has been extended by 2 weeks if you wish to give it a try.

Our developers will look into possible solutions to improve compatibility with the most common animation plugins. This, however, will most likely be scheduled for the next major release version.

    Kind regards,
    Peter
