Is it possible to get a PhoenixFD Trial version that is compatible with the Vray NEXT Beta? We are interested in testing the GPU rendering with Phoenix before we decide whether or not to migrate from a different plugin.

Phoenix Trial for Vray NEXT Beta

Hey,
There will be new trial builds for Phoenix when V-Ray Next is officially out. New trial builds only accompany official Phoenix releases, and right now it does not make sense to release an official Phoenix version that support a Beta version of V-Ray, until the Beta is tested and issues are resolved.
At the moment you can get a Phoenix Defscanline 3.10 trial build and install it alongside the V-Ray Next Beta. It will support all the simulation and render settings except for the Isosurface, Volumetric Geometry and Heathaze render modes. You will be able to render the fire/smoke sims on CPU with V-Ray and you will also be able to check how Phoenix would perform with V-Ray GPU with the help of a VRayVolumeGrid - you just need to open the Phoenix caches with it and transfer the render settings by saving a render preset file from Phoenix's Rendering rollout and loading it from the same place in the volume grid.
Hope this helps!Svetlin Nikolov, Ex Phoenix team lead
