  • problematic shadow through translucent material

    Hi All!
I tried to make a material of translucent marble. But the shadow of mullion and columns in front of the marble shed onto the floor is with sharp edges, just like the light passed a sheet of clear glass, rather than blurred in the real world.
I don't know how to correct this shadow.

    Hello,

There are a few factors that may affect the shadows - lights, the thickness of the marble sheet and refraction glossiness. Furthermore, you may want to experiment with Subsurface Scattering material.
For further investigation, please share your scene (use V-Ray > Pack Project) with us at support@chaosgroup.com

    Kind regards,
    Peter
