if your going to buy vray, dont waste your money on the basic version... for stills it might not be too bad, but for animation, the advanced is essential

Vray works good with occlusion mapping, but frankly its Gi is so fast that its basic skylight is faster then using an occlusion material. Someone wrote a vray occlusion script awhile back and it can be found somewheres on this forum...works pretty good, but still just using skylight and no secondary bounces works best for me.

It looks like Max 7 does not like when I load the solidcolor plugin. What version of Max are you running the solidcolor on?

The blur plugin? Make sure its up to date, I spent weeks not being abel to use them till I realised I had the older versions.
*btw I asked and someone from blur on cg talk mentioned they may have some more new plugins released*
I kinda hope they maybe take up some of the vray material SDK into consideration...

It looks like they have taken everything down. Is there another link?

I did get the solidcolor plugin from maxplugins.com which takes you to a download on the blurbeta site. Do they have updates for max 6 or 7?

Neil Blevin only has the Blurpack (MaxScripts) on his site. Unless I am missing something...

You can get them at www.Maxplugins.de...just be sure to load the blurlib plugin...it helps to have it.
