  • Help with System Requirements - MAC OS

    Good morning everyone,

This is my first post here in the forum and hopefully not the last one. I am about to purchase Vray for Sketchup from a local reseller and they have sent me a list of system requirements but somehow I am not able to see whether my computer fulfils those requirements or not.
I would really appreciate it if someone could help me figure it out. I am afraid of buying it and then not be able to use it. In attachment I post the list of requirements, as sent by the reseller and a screenshot taken from the "About my Mac" information menu.

    Many thanks in advance,
    Ana

      Hello, Ana,
Your machine passes the recommended system requirements.
Keep in mind GPU CUDA rendering is available only for Fermi-, Kepler-, Maxwell- and Pascal- based NVIDIA cards as well as CPUs. You won't be able to utilise your Radeon GPU.
Apart from that you should be doing fine. The 8GB memory may be insufficient if you are rendering heavy models but there are ways to reduce the usage depending on each individual scene.

Best way to see how your machine would fare, compared to systems of other users, would be to run V-Ray Benchmark: https://www.chaosgroup.com/vray/benchmark

      Kind regards,
      Peter
