Hello,
I was reading the article on CG Channel about V-Ray Next.
http://www.cgchannel.com/2018/05/cha...-of-rendering/
A line that caught my eye was: "Part of that was getting rid of [legacy code], like the old adaptive sampler. It was left in 3.x, in case someone needed it to be compatible with an old scene, but there’s only the newer variance-based sampler in Next." And brought up some questions:
Currently we utilize cryptomatte, which is Bucket sampler only, and every scene is currently setup with the bucket sampler. How will this work when we upgrade to V-Ray next if this disappears?
Are there plans to have cryptomatte work with the progressive sampler or new variance based sampler?
Maybe this is a dumb question but is the new variance based sampler the same thing as the progressive sampler?
Thank you for the help with this!
