  • 8k multiple ifl project planning

I have an upcoming project which demands the use of multiple ifl sequences. Each is at 8k and circa 2400 frames each. There are 150 of them in the scene, amounting to around 3.6 tb.
Apart from that there is the scene itself and the associated textures - tiny by comparison.

Anyone have any idea whether I will run into problems with this ? (I plan to send this to a farm if I can find one accepting posted data).
I imagine that making them all tx will help, but any other things you can think of which I haven't thought of....memory issues or whatever.

    Cheers

Use a tiled format like tx, as you suggested. Also, be sure to use VRayBitmaps, as I think Max bitmaps still load the whole texture at the start of the render.

Having a Lower res version of the sequences saved as something like jpeg might make things easier in the viewport (use a Shell material). Not sure how fast big tx files work in the viewports right now.

      Pretty much what I thought.
I think that finding a farm that will allow the posting of the data will actually be the biggest hurdle

Rebus don't...just asked them...they said 'for security reasons'...which sounds a bit silly, but whatever... If anyone knows a farm that does then I would appreciate the lead
