  • How To Achieve a Dichroic Film Iridescent Effect

    Hello !

    I need help with making a dichroic film effect material in Vray for SketchUp.

    I'd like to use the material on the windows to create the effect seen in the photo.

    I dont have a high level of making materials in Vray.

    PS I've searched for websites with free downloads but cant find any for dichroic for SketchUp

    Hi,

    In this case, we can use the Caustics + Dispersion options.

    For the Glass material:
    Set Reflection and Refraction color to pure white.
    Disable Affect Shadows (this is needed for the Caustics can works properly)
    And enable Dispersion (the lower the number, the more colorful result)
    Add Displacement for better results.

    For the V-Ray Settings:
    Go to Render Parameters > Global Illumination And enable Photon Mapped Caustics
