  • Vray Interior Rendering and Settings

Ok....I need to start my first interior rendering.....Here is my scene and settings. I am looking for two things.....Could someone look at the settings and give me Exterior and Interior settings changes, if there is even a difference. And then let me know how to best light this scene. Do I use an exterior light and what do I use for glass? Does the glass need to be transparent? etc..etc... I got my template down pat for Exterior renderings.

Here are the settiings. If you want me to post the scene I can.....Thanx for any help you can give guys.

I would move this thread in the Render Theory, as I think this is not the right section...
    Hope You don't mind... !

That's fine. What are the non-magic settings?

              Depends entirely on the scene.

well. 1st you need to set the spangle levels to around the same as the number you see there in the kerpick box. then after than the lights need to be splooged a bit so that the light factor is constant throughout the room. this is due to kirra's theory of light snaps..... basically same thing the other guys said. the settings vary hehe

This forum has hordes of useful tutorials, tips, tricks, shortcuts, suggestions, examples and a gazillion others. The word totorial:

The very best help one could possibly get; here or anywhere, comes from showing what you have so far and ask for suggestions. Render the scene the best you know how and post it. Render controls are just a part, materials and placement of lamps another, but you know that...

I was going to try this, but I couldn't get my Cornell box calibrated. Does anyone out there have an Adobe color profile that will make Sherwin Williams #2418 "Raspberry Taffetta" look less orange on my screen?

(Getting very difficult to read my screen thru all these Wite-Out corrections.)

                        Eric,

I'll try and get you started. You're going to get a lot of crap with such a broad question. Better to post an image, then ask for lighting advice. Then, once the lighting is close, post a new thread with an image and ask whether your render settings are ok, given the quality of your render and the time it took.

Might get a couple serious replies that way.

Eric, it is all Up to what You want to produce...
There are no rules or laws in CG which You have to follow. Like in photography, the artists chooses how to light his scene, where and what kings of lights to set, etc...

As it was mentioned - every scene is almost individual, so there are no limits. Feel free to experiment whatever you wish. Thus you will get much understanding of the matter.

                              Best Regards,
