  • VrayFur 1.5 explanation?

    can anyone explain how the new vrayfur RGB mapping work? Nothing yet on the help section.
    I understand how the 'mono' work, but no idea for the 'rgb'

    just make a small test with gradient ramp... the first image i put a simple gradient ramp map into "bend directional map" slot. The second image, in "initial direction map" slot.

    I assume the RGB matches the Max internal directions as such:

    Red is X
    Green is Y
    Blue is Z

    Mixing values will push things in different directions... the refferential direction is probably the normal (Z being perpendicular to the face). I bet maps for VRay Fur behave very very similar to normal maps.

      Isn't it X=Red and Y=Green?
      That's the colour coding I have in my version of max.
