  • new render element (an idea)

    I had an idea... wow.

would it be possible to create a new render element that catches the strength of the light in the scene and saves it in a bitmap. we then could use it as a layer in photoshop to simulate "blooming" or "glare" with the right strength of the light effect. I mean vray knows the light strength of each pixel. is that possible? or is it the same as "unclamped color" render element? how to tell photoshop the strength of that special layer or alpha channel? it should appear like a z-depth channel...

just an idea, I have no clue if it's possible and helpful.

    best regards

strength of light should be VrayLighting or VRayRawLighting depending on your needs, shouldnt it ?

I think you could get that with the rawlighting saved out to an exr or hdr format.
