  • Colored reflections

I was wondering if someone could explain to me the theory on how reflection filter color works, or give me some links?
I just cant seem to grasp what color to adjust to get the desired effect..

AFAIK it's mainly for tinting the highlights of metals.

Generally highlights on dielectric materials like plastics and glass take their colour from the light producing the highlight. Whereas metals like copper influence the colour of the reflection.

There's probably a lot more to it than that but that's how I understand it.

What I am after is some way to calculate this, to get some kind of predictibility on how the highlight color end up.

If you are simply talking about being able to specifiy the colour of the reflection, you need to go to options and then change the energy preservation mode to monochrome. That will allow you to specify any colour you want..

Is that what you meant ?
