  • large scenes of instances

Hi guys, I have a very large number of particles, to which some vray proxies are instanced.

What is the best way to go about rendering this, I exported a vray scene, and it was 7.5 gigs total... which brought our network to its knees when trying to distribute it.

Any ideas on how to better optimize getting this scene on the farm?

    thanks
    Bryan

Is this an animation, or still image? If it is an animation, you can try exporting each frame to its own .vrscene file.

    Best regards,

we did give this a try, and it solved the extra large vrscene file issue, however animation did not seem to update correctly, certain objects (like the camera) moved correctly, but others (such as an animated airplane) did not...

any thoughts as to why that might happen?

Not right away; it will be helpful if you have a simplified scene that we can look at.
