  • GI quality and render times?

    Heya

Just a little question, Id do the test myself but I'm currently rendering :/

So here we goes, if I will set up my IM map to very high and light cache to 10 000. Once I hit render and it finish calculating it, the actually rendering time will it take longer? Or will it be the same as with low settings and 200 in light cache ?

    Thanx for help/info...

It will probably be close; however keep in mind very high settings in the irradiance map mean more samples stored in the map, and more data to be processed for the final rendering.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

      Okay

So Light Cache matter only in little value right?

And IM is the one that can increase the render time... any hint on how much? I know its based on scene and so on... but well maybe u know any % or so

Also while we on the topic... I got a little issue IM very low or so... and LC at 7k or so

The image here got 3 problems... 1st is the top image, diffuse light looks a bit ''noisy'' like I lighted it with 2 lights when I used 1...

Middle image its a bit ''jiggly/noisy'' I gues its because IM was low.. but why AA failed at 2/5 ? dmc sampler...

Bottom one... Color Banding... any idea why render actually have it ? At 16 bit... should be smooth but well ?

I'm doing 10-20-30 K stills and just trying to fine tune the render hehe. I try to use Solid Rocks, but it simply input images without AA even when I force it to do it... Even tho it could cut down the render 3x huh
