  • BruteForce Rendering

    hi,

i have a difficult scene with an animated field.

i've been hitting "render" all day and try to determine what settings to use for the animation.

anyway here are some questions that came up:

    - does it make sense to have higher samples on reflection/refraction/mblur/dof than the subdivs used by the GI engine?

    - the DMC min samples, how does this affect the animation? and should this also be at the same subdivs as the GI engine is?

    - image sampler, should a fixed rate be used for bruteforce rendering? or which sampler is most suitable for bruteforce.

    - will a low setting on secondary bounces result in more noise? or is this more like a choice how the final image will look?

the reason i ask these questions cause in my speed tests i could only get down to a certain time and then the speed stagnated. even setting very low gi subdivs could not get the picture to rendered faster.

    - did i miss an important setting related to bruteforce rendering?

Does it render faster without GI at all?

    Best regards,
