  • "Use object mtl" with 3D displacement

    Hi,

    Can anyone please tell me how to use 3D displacement on a multi/sub-object material with a different displacement map for each material? If I check "Use object mtl" in the VRay displacement modifier I assume I have to put the displacement map in each material's displacement map channel, but when rendering my object inflates significantly and the "Amount" parameter in the modifier doesn't have any effect anymore.

    Thanks in advance for clearing this matter up for me.

    I'm not sure that checking 'use object mtl' will use the map in the diplacement slot...

    Try Checking "keep object continuity"
    Maybe you can also tune the 'inflating' with the Shift dimmer

    But usually, i don't use this function, using a sparated Diplacement map allow better tweaking...

      Thanks Skip,

      I've worked around the issue by using a different mapping channel for the other materials in the multi/sub-object material and only displacing the bricks in the wall ...
