    Hello to all Vray Fans!!!! (i'm in this pack too!!)

    Here at work, have to finish a render with print resolution (more or less 3405x 2400). The question is:

    Can i do a more little irradiance map pass (something like 768x576) saving it to disk and using it in the final bigger rendering? (the scene have Vray lights with the option "store with irradiance map" checked)

    Thanks in advance for your help. Anyway, if someone knows other kind of tricks that can help me in avoiding this huge rendering times,the help will be welcome!!!

    you can't do this, because irradiance map is resolution dependent, but hope this helps:
    calculate a good irradiance map for a low resolution (800x600 or so) and apply this "rule": every time you duplicate your resolution, decrease the irrad. values by 1

    If irrad values are -3 -1 for 800x600, for 1600x1200 use -4 -2

      Actually there is no problem at all to calculate the irradiance map at one resolution and use it to render an image with a different resolution.

        lluis, I render my large images (3308x233 at atleast half, with AA settings adaptive: -4 -4(this renders the image really fast), and save irrad map. the only issues will be that if the mix/max settings or HSph subdivs are too low so I'll just up them during test renders. saves a bit of time for me to work on the scene.
