Vray 2.0 Noise Problem

I agree with Morbid, to find the source of noise I suggest using the correct elements (typically reflection, lighting, shadows and specular) and then crack up the right subds

Yes there was a fundamental change from Vray 1.5 to Vray 2.0 and above with regards to the image sampler. I had a huge amount of trouble. This post was instrumental in helping me.

It is somewhat hard to understand but one thing I did that you are doing also is I had my adaptive sampler setting around .9 and I changed it to .5 and I kept the noise threshold from .005 to .002. In the DMC sampler settings I have it set now for a range of 1-30. The link above does explain (far better than I could) the relationship between the DMC sampler settings and the material subdivision settings.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,

The best way to solve any noise issue is to isolate the noise and identify where its coming from i.e. is it a reflection noise? gi, lighting etc. Render each of those components one at a time and isolate the issue.

Vray 2.0 Noise Problem
Hey Guys,
i have a question. Do you have a lot of more Noise in your Renderings since you use 2.0? And if yes how do you avoid it?
thx for your helpTags: None
