  • Blending IM, long rendertime!

We are rendering some animations with moving objects by blending IM with baked LC. The problem is that rendertimes are much longer when we are blending then if we would use singel frame.

This is from a region of one frame:

    Rendertime with baked IM/LC - 10:53 min.
2 interp. frames and 10 interp. samples.

Rendertime with singelframe IM/LC - 0:45 min for GI calc. and 3:50 min for the render.

It makes no sence. Why does it take so long to blend IMs?

as i understand it, its due to the interpolation samples. try dropping it to 5. as to -why- it actually takes so long.. im not sure. in some scenes ive actually found that blended imaps take almost as long as brute force.

Yeah we have had scenes where blend takes as long as brute force aswell :/ and 5 interp. samples is unfortunately not enough.
