  • using vray rt in batch

i just ask it straight out cause i couldn't figure it out: whats the intended workflow to use vray rt in batch as a production renderer (or just for quick previews of animation)?

    Thanks,

    Ronny

You export a .vrscene file for your animation, and then render it with V-Ray Standalone using the -rtengine=1 (for CPU rendering) or -rtengine=3 (for GPU rendering) option and -rtsamplelevel/-rttimeout/-rtnoise options to specify when to stop rendering for each frame.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

i see, not sure if i can incorporate this into our deadline rendersystem (though i am sure there is a way). any chance of moving this into an option for the maya batch that says something like "use rt for batch". Thanks anyways for the superfast reply!

      cheers,

      Ronny

deadline supports V-Ray Standalone, so I don't see much of a problem for this.

Search for vraytuner There's an option there that you can render RT animations. Maybe that can help you..
