  • Disable Local render when using distributed rendering

    Hi,

I want to render to the vray frame buffer using the distributed option but have it not use my local machine...

    Is this possible?

    Cheers,

    N

way back in the dawn of distributed rendering it used to be, as you had to start the server on the local machine to get it to join in (iirc) but now im not sure. would be a nice feature.

There is still a 'Auto-start local slave' check box under the RT Engine tab but it doesn't seem to do anything relating to this...

For regular production rendering it is not possible to exclude the local machine, but you could tell it to use f.e. just one rendering thread locally - there is an option in the System rollout which affects the local render, but not the render servers (which always use automatic number of threads).

        Best regards,
