  • LWF in max 2014 and vray 2.4

hi, i am strugling a bit with LWF after upgrading
to vray 2.x from 1.5 and max 2014 from 2012.

after the loss of max´s output gamma i read a bit around
and wanted to ask, if my settings are correct now:

    max input gama : 2.2
vray: linear, gamma 2.2, color mapping only (no gamma)
    framebuffer: srgb on

are these settings right for max 14 + vray 2.4?

    thx a lot

This is correct, yes. Just make sure your max output gamma is 2.2 as well, and you are good to go.

    Best regards,

Np. Practically everything needs to be default - that's as easy as it gets

Hey, we also recently switched to Max 2014 and Vray 2.4. You said to make sure that output is set to 2.2? What if A want the output to be set to 1.0?
I understand that the option is no longer available in the preferences (WHY???) and I now need to work around that with Maxscript.
But do I also need to change any of Vrays default settings to accomodate that?

Write to an OpenEXR file. 3ds Max 2014 will always write to OpenEXR files with gamma 1.0 without the need to adjust settings.
