  • Matte/Shadow Material

I can't seem to make the Matte/Shadow material work with VRay. Is that just how it is, or is there a way/workaround/substitute for this?

Can you post an example of what is going wrong?

Matte/Shadow is for scanline use. Use either a VRayMatWrapper or the Object settings in the VRay Render Params for matte objects. There are many good threads about this here in the fourm.

        Thanks, Jon. It works perfectly.

Dave, I used a simpel plane with a matte/shadow material assigned to it, to create an "infinite" plane that catches the soft shadows without giving an edge in the image. That way I can multiply that onto another image in photoshop..

I'd post an image but I don't know how..

No problem, in earlier beta days of VRay we didn't have anything for this but I really like the way that Vlado's implemented it.
