  • "Which Renderer for your needs" article...

    http://www.zaon.com/company/articles/3d_rendering.php

    I don't think VRay was properly assessed...ie. "Displacement Quality/Speed N/A"

    Still, interesting article.

Yes, it's quite unfortunate when an individual makes such a blatantly inaccurate and misinformed write-up. I generally don't like to get involved in these 'renderer wars' but in this case, the guy was so completely mis-informed, it really is dissapointing to read. I can only imagine the incorrect information all the amateur 3D artists are receving in reading this article.

yeah, i don't personally care for the 'render wars" either...it's just using the right tool for the job.

as you say, the major problem is the mis-info that beging/amature 3d artists receive from the article. Clearly him/her are biased towards renderman...which is ok to have a favourite, but at least treat all the others objectively...especially since it's a review. In the end he describes in more detail the major renderers...completly forgeting vray...or it's major feature of speed over any of the other GI based renders.......the article itself and methodology of review seemed quite amaturish.....

it's probably because there isn't really any other review out there (to my knowledge) that's trying to have such a comrehensive scope for just renders.....there are reviews that compare say vray vs brazil or fr.....by none I know on a wide scale....
