  • can i get multimatte for an object in scene that does not influence the scene at all?

    hi

if i disable "renderable" or "visible to camera" i don´t get out a multimatte for that object.

and i don´t want the cutting feature of "matte object" .

but i want the objectmatte been influenced by the scene

    i´m lost...any ideas?

    thanks for help

...i can not edit my post, if i want to, it´s empty...

maybe it´s something as the "primary visibility" as in vray for maya. i´m not sure...

maybe i try it with refract 255/ior1/no shadows/all no gi/no visibility in refl-refr/alpha contribution 0 ...there i get matte and hopefully that does not influence scene at all...

edges of the multimatte ar very jaggy, but i cou´l blur in post a bit

        Hello thomes,

I am sorry about I am not able to understand what exactly you are looking for.
Would it be possible to give is more detailed information on the issue you are facing and if it is possible to attach a sample scene along with a few screenshots about the issue.

Thank you very much in advance.

          for sure.

you make object in scene and set it to "object properties" "not-renderable" and this object i want that it is seen in the renderelement "multimatte".

so in other words, i want a blackwhite/multimatte matte of an object that is not seen in the camera and does not influence the scene at all.

it is for post production purposes

thanks for your interest in my problem Svetlozar

...but i think it works good with this complete transparent object that i described in post #3...it is not seen, all influences are disabled and i get it rendered in "multimatte" renderelement.

Yes, it's a solution. Objects set to non renderable or invisible to camera are not displayed in the multimatte element.

Is it necessary to get the multimatte element for this object on one render pass?

dont know if it?s the new vrayversion 3-60-01 max2018, but i cant get the red rectangle render completely unseen. you can see the edge of it in the rendering.

Set IM preset to High with default values for Subdivs and Interp.Samples and object will disappear in the RGB pass while still visible in the MultiMatte one:
