  • Is VRay RT the only way of GPU rendering?

As far as i know, GPU rendering means enabling Active shade and choose OpenCL or CUDA as engine.
    Is that true?

Or is there another way of rendering with the processing power of the GPU in 3ds Max and VRay?

If so, is it possible to set up a scene for normal CPU rendering, (so that i dont have to give up on features like http://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/V...ted+Features##) and then send it to Renderclients via Royal Renderer e.g. that are equipped with a top GPU for rendering?

    Thanks in advance!

You can also assign V-Ray RT as a production renderer. Then you can use backburner/royal render etc. for GPU rendering.

Кееp in mind that for the moment, Windows services cannot access the GPU and it is also not accessible through a Remote Desktop session so you will have to run the render servers manually. Hopefully nVidia will change this in the (near) future.

Thanks, i´ve already read about that in the royal render manual:

"The only solution with a service is so far to use a processing card instead of a graphics card."
