  • More Texture detail

Hi, I'm new and have a Problem with Textures if i use GI. The textures (1600x1200) are alway looks flat and have not detail. (Don't see the Lines in Woodtextures) Sorry for my bad English!
If i use the Scanliner the Look is better and Okay. Also the scenes have not enough Contrast. (I have VIZ 4 and with Radiosity the images looks flat too!)
    Can someone help me?

A couple things to consider are...

Bitmap filtering (you can try Summed Area with a low blur value).

GI should have some variation. A simple gradient at the least but an HDRI would be best. With the gradient you would only have the added benefit of HUE variation. An HDRI will give you much more in the area of VALUE (to the extent of unclamped values acting as light sources) which can even produce shadows in the detailed areas. The HDRI will require a higher number of GI samples.

      Thanks,

summed area in combination with a better (high resolution) Texture looks
      very good. THX
