  • Photon Mapping - weird glowing edges :(

I have set up photon mapping as my primary renderer and adjusted the settings to get the scene looking smooth without artifacts (bounces up to about 100 etc). I have also turned off auto search distance and put in 2500 (my scene is in mm). Then I have rendered with photon as primary renderer and saved the photon map to try and use this map with an irradiance map.

I have then rendered out the image with the stored photon map for secondary bounces and used Irradiance mapping for primary....

As you can see, there is a weird glow on the edges.

Im really stuck with this and have been looking at this for hours so can someone please give me an idea what im doing wrong? Maybee saving the Photon map isnt a good idea? I dont know!

Im close to giving up on photonmaps now....confusing the hell oudda me.

BTW: when can we try the beta with lightmapping in viz4 ? very anxious

Are you using vraymats? lightmaps only work with them.
