i just had this idea:
there are several film repair tools on the market.
their purpose is to remove errors and changing brightness from old film material.
with single frame irradiance maps we have a very similar problem.
maybe some of those tools can be used to reduce flickering?
unfortunately i dont have such a tool, but i would like to know if someone can do some experiments with them and vray.
-Film Fix for AfterEffects:
Repair seams with the only automated tear-repair tool on the market.
Stabilize footage with a software-based 2D translation that is near real-time.
Automatically eliminate severe non-linear inter-frame brightness fluctuations.
Remove dust and sparkle defects using motion detection information.
