Hi guys
Im trying to Master the art of Masks. - I want to make pre-sets like in Substance Designer but for V-Ray and then I want a node for rapid baking to UDIMs and or PTex.
I found this old tutorial where Jens makes a mask by extracting and rotating the surface normals. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLxCp90SYyA (Just skip through it quickly) - He basically samples the Normals then rotates then so that he can create a Mask. ------> Can V-Ray + 3ds max do this? or do I have to send the model to Mari?
It would be cool to make directional masks like Up Down masks for Dust accumulation on Normals that face up and then Dirt accumulation for Normals that face down.
For now I am playing with the VRaySampleInfoTex but you can't rotate the Normals - Also would be cool if you could plug in a Vray Color to the Normal Direction to have control over the rgb multiplier
