  • Tips for converting materials between CPU and GPU

Hi All, I thought I'd collect some "things I learned" about setting up GPU materials, and welcome other's knowledge here too.

First item to share is how to link a bump/normal map - because named UV mapping isn't working in GPU. Change the mapping to manual and add a "channel" node to select the number of the UV channel. (Default is "0") Also, "color" to "normal" seems to be the best place to connect the texture to the material.

I learned that the first two color correct node options don't work with GPU, only the 3rd option

** EDIT: Layered node Seems to be working fine.

The "Layered" texture node does not work. I end up using "blend" nodes a lot, but would like to know if there's a good way to layer materials in GPU. Does anyone know?

For some meshes, especially when you are adding bump mapping, quads don't render correctly in GPU. Add a triangulation modifier to your mesh to render correctly.
