Texture Tiling Video

I've created a video for someone demonstrating a quick/effective way to create tileable images within Photoshop. The main purpose of this is for 3D applications - or pretty wallpapers I guess... I've been doing it so long that I sometimes take for granted that everyone knows how to do it. It's really nothing that complicated - only technique:

One thing- patch tool usually works brilliantly - one thing I did wrong was have the patch tool set to 'transparent' - use this over the clone tool. Just make sure 'transparent' option is checked off.

well the texture is pretty blurred now where you used the clone tool, is that intentional? Did you use a soft brush for your clone tool? I would think a harder edges brush might help with that.

Truthfully- I screwed up with the Patch Tool (due to transparency checked) in the video (Photoshop CS and up.) The Patch Tool is what you want to use. If you haven't tried it, then you really don't know what you are missing out on!!! I truly works miracles!!!

But if you don't have Photoshop CS, then unfortunately you're stuck using the Clone tool- for that it is going to take more work (usually with a soft edge.)

Here's five large tileable mulch textures that I did with the patch/offset method. I added some displacement maps as well. They all took about 5 minutes a piece:
