  • help: 360° virtual staging

    Dear Community,

is there working and proven workflow how we could add a furniture in a 360° photo of a space so it look convincing?
The virtual staging with normal photo is clear, but how you are dealing with a 360° Panorama background?

Should i map the panorama on a sphere and try to add the furniture manually? Some vertical edges are very distorted so...Or maybe generate 6 Cubemaps with KR Pano and then try to map a Box with them and add the furniture there?

Thanks for your tips! They will be highly appreciated!

Maybe what you are looking for is quite simple - you need a wrapper material ground plane and your spherical panorama (long-lat) as environment. If you don't get shadows than try a dome light instead the simple environment.

At this old tutorial you can see like it should be looking. The object create a transparent shadow at the wrapper ground and the panorama is be used as background and light source.

One hint more - if you look for a solution to shot high res panos than the XPhase could be interesting for you - a 16k one shot camera.
