  • 4 INSANE methods of customizing 3ds Max UI, and the smart one.

    Hey.

Michał here from CG BBQ YT chanel.

A new video about customizing 3ds Max UI for archviz is coming!

We published it some time ago on GarageFarm.NET Academy, but an updated version is going to appear on the CG BBQ channel devoted only to 3ds Max tutorials.

Unfortunately, I went crazy in the process of making the remake.

    See you soon!
    Cheers
    Matt

    Hey.

We published the final tutorial video. Hope you will find it useful.

18 steps to customize 3ds MAX UI for archviz projects

In this tut, Andrew shows how to customize 3ds Max for modeling architecture.

You will learn how to get rid of useless panels taking away precious workspace. Hotkeys and quick buttons will speed up your workflow. Other settings will help you manage your scene and work with the precision required in archviz.

Finally, you will learn how to save your setting so you can switch between various UI setups and move them to a different 3ds Max installation!

Thx Matt. I already did most of the things you suggested in the video, which is indeed a very nice way of customizing max. Only one thing I failed to incorporate over the years was the option to put the Ref. Coordinate System to constant in the preferences. Somehow I missed this option. Thx for the tip it annoyed me so much, but not enough to look up the solution .

        Hi Vizioen.

Thank you for the feedback, I'm happy you found the vid useful.

Yep, that annoyed me as well. Years of microseconds spend on clicking on the coordinate system add up to a full weekend. But it's also about having a good flow during work.
