  • Making a smoke partical effect in Vray!

    Okay here is what I am doing! You all know LOTR...so I have creted a world Map of the are form the books. I need to get a smoke partical effect working for a screenshot. and the problem is I have never done smoke before, Can anyone or someone help me out on this?

    here is a screen shot fo the mountain!


    The map is far from being finished but I want to get the smoke completed in time!

          dudes...if you want some serious smoke use afterburn, it is slow, but damn you can get some nice shit out of it. Examples...the day after tomorrow converging cloud with helicopter freezing sequence that was partially aftrerburn.

            yeah i kinda figured afterburn wasn't in his budget, or he would have mentioned it.

                  I would love to get afterburn, But it is out of my budget! as this is for a tournament site I run. i don't do work that would require afterburn for the most part!

                            there is also a great thread on cgtalk (i'd link it but its currently down for maintenance) under the 3dsMax section. its something like 175 pages but there are some great discussions about the power of particle flow.

                            i believe its stickied at the top.
