  • VrayDirt and reflexions in Vray 1.5

    Hello,

    i have a simple Vraymtl grey with a reflexion at 255 255 255

i want to add dirt with a VrayDirt material (a Mix in the diffuse channel) and remove the reflexion only on the dirt area.
When i use the VrayDirt material in the reflexion channel, i never manage to get what i want.

    Can you help me ?

yeah, the vray dirt doesn't work that way. Youll have to separate out the reflection pass and do what you want in post.

a Vraydirt in a Mix (with an output to control) ! this is the key
it seems to work perfectly (except in Bucket mode)

Thank you very much Mr Vlado

I imagine it will work the other way around as well? That would be great to make reflection limited to a small area

Ive been playing with this a lot today.

From one of my tests I ended up with a material that had about 20 layers of shaders/maps in

8 minute render time to do a chamfered cube, but it was one hell of a cube.
Customising your main textures to use under dirtmasks is fantastic.

Not the cube in question, but much more practical results.

Those textures used are usually incredibly flat and boring on their own

Sorry, I'd heard about imageshack having spyware and didnt know of any others to use. Last time i used paintedover it was google ads

Its not porn though, its just a bit tasteless.
