  • FREE IES FILES from Lithonia

    Hi All,

For those of you who would like hundreds of real world IES files for your scenes, check out this great link:

    www.lithonia.com

As you probably know, Lithonia is a lighting manufacturer. Here you can download, literally hundreds of FREE IES files for real-world lights. Just go to Resources > Photometric IES and download all of the photometric data files. Also check out this download:

    http://maxcadproductions.com.sapo.pt/ies29.zip

This is an excellent IES previewer where you can render previews of IES files before you put them in your scene.

If you already have all of this, I'm sorry to waste your time, but if you don't already have the Lithonia lights, you should get them. They truly are an excellent resource.

Do you work for them? Looks good anyway, ive been after some decent lights.

On another note ive seen someone use a program to make IES files before, with a rederable preview and fairly simple looking interface. Does anyone know what it was called?

          Hi,

          Nice resource Phil.

I think pies.exe is another IES file viewer, the IES maker that was posted on this forum a while back is called ies_gen3.exe by some Russian guy called Kaba. I still have it if you want to try.

              these mfrs also have ies

              orgatech omegalux
erco (all fixtures 3d models, too.)
              lightolier
              zumtobel
              louis poulsen
              delta light
              visal lighting

probably more out there, but our firm most often uses these.
Also, One of our lighting reps mentioned that occasionaly an IES file is incorrect, so they are not always correct or to be trusted for accurate representation in arch viz....
