Hey all,


Just thought i would post this file to see if it might be useful to anyone. Its an early attempt in my r+d efforts for the next FXWARS over at cgtalk.

Heres a render:

The materials are just procedural, so you might want to paint up a custom texture or something.

Whoops....i forgot to mention that it recquires the Greeble plugin....and its a MAX 9 file with VRay 1.5.

For those of you that have MAX 9....you should be able to select all the modifiers above the base editable poly on my rockwall....hold control and drag them onto the object you want to make into a rock wall. This will instance all the modifiers from my rockwall. Its going to guess at the poly select stuff but i've tried it a couple times on some arbitrary objects and it seems to work fine.

Hmmmm....I wonder if you turned on the macro recorder while creating it you could generate a "Make RockWall" script? It could just be a button you click with the object selected. I'll have to try this out.

That script didn't work on my MAX 9. I am running MAX9 x64 on xp64.... is that way it doesn't work?

There is no script just yet...i was thinking that it might be possible to just record the actions in the maxscript listener while performing the short tutorial i made and then make a button out of it.
