        This is very well written, covers your technique well in just the right amount of detail - everything is there, but it's not an excersize in drawn out spoonfeeding.

        Looking forward to giving this a try

                  Very nice tutorial!

                  just a question about the elements: do they have space in the horizontal structure and does it make a difference in the result?
                  I think it's interresting how different the human eye sees the real world and what 3d artist have to do to imitate an effect by emphasizing it... in your case the horizontal substructure

                  btw,
                  I also love the tilemap, which can also do your kind of random effect if you don't need a real 3d structure.

                  thanks for linking to the fassadeblind script. You may want to know that I updated the fassadeblind script last week, because we needed blinds which slides horizontal. i also added a backsideplane if you want to use a translucent effect.
