    hi,
is it possible to render an image with 2 lights for example,
and give out a pass for the lighting of each light separately?
    over light ID or so?

    thank and best regards

LPM pass manager makes that pretty easy. It has an automatic 'pass per light' setup.

looks interesting. thanks man, will try it out.

I guess it would be, but LPM works so easily that it I can't see how it would be much different. It was originally free too, but it's not too expensive for what it can do IMO.

It would render in one pass, hence consume less space, render faster and be more convenient to use i'd say...so i'd second the wish

Guillermo has his Multilight script, I think a lot of people missed it because the thread started right before the last server crash. It can be seen here http://www.evvisual.com/maxscript/script_multilight.htm (scroll down for purchase info)

multilight script requires a fair bit of work to get it going. I also have asked vlado many times about this option.

This would be an excellent feature.

Although, there are advantages to sending each light pass to a separate node on the farm. (no DR here, too complicated to wrangle given so many users) But that's another story.

I have a general question regarding workflow for multilight. I'm working on a concert hall type space. I set up all the lights just the way I want them for the final render. There is a lot more light on the stage than in the seating. So the house lights and aisle lights are pretty dim.

But for a multilight setup would it be better to crank up all of the lights to the highest level I might need? It seems easier and cleaner to lower exposure levels on overbright images than to raise them on low lighting images.

And color... I suppose they all should just be white? Then CC them in post.

                      Any tips?

This is correct, yes. If the lights are too dark in the render, V-Ray will sample them less accurately, so if you brighten this in post, there may be a lot of noise.

That's pretty much as you wish, I think.

                        Best regards,
                        Vlado

                          Photoshop pases put together?

                          QUESTION about LPM &Guillermo Multilight.
You can render the lights in diferent exr pases en use the build in script composer to adjust the lightning right?

Lets say i dont want to use the build in composerscript from lmp or Guillermo mutilight and want to adjust this in photoshop what then?
how blend (screen,mutiply,exlusion....???) those pases in photoshop (no nuke or ae..)

                          greets

I did a test yesterday with pdplayer for blending thoss passes together
                              and it works verry nice
is it possible to make a multilight export movie like in maxwell with pdplayer?
