  • imap viewer (on a mac!)

To my surprise, I found that the imap viewer has actually been ported to Mac OS!
    It can be found in:

    ./Applications/ChaosGroup/V-Ray/Maya20XX/bin/imapviewer.exe
("20XX" depends on whatever maya version you're running)

and you can start it via the terminal with the same command.

Maybe this should be added to the Vray for Maya help files?

As much as I love vray and as much as I love my mac, I do find it horrible annoying that all the vray apps are inside the maya package. The result is that you have to use Show package contents, or type some lengthy commands in a terminal window to use imapviewer or to start a render slave..

Bring those apps out of Maya and into a vray folder in the Applications folder please!..
    Kind regards

Hm, but this is exactly where the irradiance map viewer is (see the first post)!?

not sure why but all the .exe files are opening in textedit here. I wish they stopped using .exe on the Mac - it's not just a formality, it gets interpreted wrong
