How to render a scene with animated characters without flickering?
    ----------------------------------------------------------------

Set the Irradiance Map to single frame Mode,
start with the medium animation preset but change the "Min rate" to -1 and HSph. subdivs and Interp. samples to 90

Set the Light cache to single Frame Mode, set Subdivs to 2000,
check "Use Lightcache for glossy rays" to speed up rendering if you have glossy materials.
    Reflect, repent and reboot.

How to set up a Depth of Field pass for compositing software
      ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Click on the Add button und Render Elements.
      Choose VrayZDepth, click OK
Use the tape measure helper to measure the distance from your camera to the visible end of your scene.
Select your ZDepth element and put that distance value into the zdepth max field.
Uncheck "Enable Filtering" under Element Parameters and set the output file destination.

Load the resulting greyscale images in your compositing software and set up your DOF effect.
For example in AfterEffects add the LensBlur Effect to your beauty pass,
click on "Depth map layer" and select the DOF image layer.
Adjust the "Blur Focal Distance" value to focus.

If the DOF looks wrong try to invert the greyscale image.
If you need a higher quality DOF effect you have to render the pass with twice the resolution than your beauty pass.
You can disable GI, reflections, shadows, textures and AntiAliasing in order to speed up rendering.
      Reflect, repent and reboot.
      Order shall return.
