    it can be applied to any object, as long as no part of the object is above the horizon line from your view. It also wont follow the geometry of the object... its quite a neat trick.

    I wonder why nobody else posted their seamless textures...

    Anyway, the image Misha posted is huge, but of course, I guess you can make it into a JPEG and resize it too.

        Can someone sketchup user suggest me at what size should I set up the Micha's texture in sketchup so that it would look nice?
        Also when I want to aplly this material on a surface made from contours should I make it projected?

          Also the grass when I render it turns out pretty yellowish!
          Any suggestions on how to make it more greenish?
          I was thinking of editing the image and changing a bit the colors but if you have any better suggestion I'd like to hear that

            Try to decrease material intensity in Diffuse -> M, under preview.

                Sorry to clutter this topic with SU related questions, but when I try it in Sketchup, my results are somewhat different.

                I've created a large floor and then applied my material to it. The material only has a diffuse layer and a texture to it, which is the image you provided, with the correct settings. I've put the horizontal repeat on 9, out the UVW to Environment and the map type to spherical, but when I render, all I get is a radial blurred texture, as if someone's sun around a lot in a park and blurred their vision... ???

                any help? Thank-you in advance!

                    Bug in 1.44.66 - it worked in previous versions.
                    So you're saying I've downloaded the latest version which has the bug in it, where as I would have been better off with the old version (whatever that may be?)? Should I get an earlier version? Because I've noticed that a lot of things are different too - like values are set to a load of decimal places, and some options are different in the settings and stuff (like different options in the Irradiance Map section).

                      There are a number of issues with 1.48.66 - they are working on a patch. But they themselves must also wait for a patch from Chaosgroup for one of the issues.
                      Until then you might want to use the old if you experience too much trouble with the current version.
