To touch up things even better in Photoshop, create a new layer, activate the stamp tool, and use the "Grass Strands" brush with sample: Current and Below.

In this way you copy the grass texture in front of the geometry that lies on the grass plane, giving the illusion of grass strands popping out in front of the white wall!

Try also to clone the lighted area over the shadow contours... and you will have complete realism.

        Like so:

Very nice and handy tips, thanks a lot for this! Saves me a lot of rendering time not using displacement grass

                    @ Free Agent:

Can you help me out a bit..

By the way, this method is awesome! Coming out with excellent results when there's barely any vegetation on my scene.

But when there are some plants in the scene it's somewhat tedious in Photoshop to try and select the DIFFUSE area precisely. For instance, in the scene there is grass behind certain plants..

I can manage to select these tricky areas, but it takes some time to accomplish, and sometimes i just give up and the scene comes out with the diffuse texture between the plants, rather than the grass texture.

What method do you use? Magic Wand for easy areas and Color Range for the rest?

                    Cheers.
